With the off-season now in full swing, the first boot camp done, and most of the riders now kicking back and looking forward to long winter miles, and maybe (whisper it) a bit of a rest, I thought I’d introduce myself as you’ll be hearing a lot from me next year. My name’s Ed Rollason and I’m a freelance photo-journalist and blogger. Next year I’m going to be shadowing the team, covering their racing season in words and pictures, both on the road and behind the scenes. To take some of the pressure of the hard working team management I’m also going to be acting as the team’s ‘media liaison’, putting out press releases and images to highlight the team and their excellent sponsors.
With nearly 10 years of involvement in cycling, mostly recreational riding, a smidgen of racing on the road and in the dirt, and recently 4 years of photographing and writing, I am as passionate as it comes about cataloging the team’s adventures. As a development team, many of the riders will experience racing at a level well above what they’ve been exposed to previously. This will be tough, they’ll get knocked down, dropped and bonk, but with the support of the team they will grow. My job is to capture that process and showcase the best that the team does.
I will be shadowing the team at many of the largest events, for both women and men, and you keep up to date with the imagery and the words here and in the press. If you’d like see more of my work you can visit my website or get in touch at ed@edrollasonphotography.co.uk.
