Biketreks Racing Team are pleased to announce that for the 2013 season their name will be changing to the BikeTreks Racing Academy. This change of name reflects the expansion of the team in the build up to 2013 and aligns the name to the mission of to give young riders an opportunity develop through exposing them to the best domestic racing that the UK can offer.
Launched in 2011, the team has always aimed to develop young riders by exposing them to high quality domestic racing, backed up by a comprehensive support network and become the best development teams in the UK.
This year has seen the team add a Women’s Development Team to their Junior and Under 23 teams, with 13 riders now being supported. The team has also been able to add a number of other prominent sponsors to support the team.
This year the team aims to target a wide range of events, including the National Junior Series, Premier Calendar and North West based races.
Team Principal Nic Bertrand says of the name change:
“The change of name reflects better on the motivations behind the project: to build a relaxed, well supported, professionally run, and friendly environment that will nurture young Athletes into the next generation of professional cyclists.”
Lead sponsor Biketreks’s Andy Stephenson says of the name change:
“We are really pleased to continue to support this development as it fits our ethos. A strong racing academy from the grassroots of the sport and helping young cyclists reach their potential are something we are passionate about.”
